Our Pastor
Shell has been married to Missy since 1986 and they reside in the Atlanta Metro. They have two wonderful adult children both with an incredible spouse each and five beautiful grandchildren. Shell and Missy have been the fearless leaders of Life Church Smyrna for 20 wonderful years. In addition to his family life and pastoral duties, Shell has been privileged to serve the following organizations in various roles: Georgia District of the Assemblies of God, Beulah Heights University, Smyrna Public Safety Foundation, First Priority Ministries, Steering Committee for the City of Smyrna’s Vision for the Community, Smyrna Citizen Corp Council as well as chaplain for the Smyrna Fire Department and the Smyrna Police Department. Shell is also a member of the Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Chaplains and a Serving Heroes certified chaplain.

Serving as a secondary leader - whether in the worlds of church, business, or education - is an important and vital task. It's Not Good for Leaders to Lead Alone! is a compilation of what I learned, both practically and Biblically, during 18 years while serving in associate pastoral roles coupled with what I have since learned over the past 19 years serving as a lead pastor. The focus is on training secondary leaders how to better serve their primary leader both inside and outside the church. Dr. John Maxwell says, “Everything rises and falls on leadership” and I am hoping my book will become a tool which you can use to better develop the leaders who are serving with you.
